Writing wine labels is a bit like writing Haiku ... in a straightjacket ... while drinking. Project requests often sound like this: "We need this copy to really project the irreverent personality of our brand, but also to sound ultra-premium;  it is imperative that you include these 48 descriptors the winemaker provided and a thorough description of the appellation. Oh, and the label design will accommodate no more than 14 words."

Right.

But somehow, these can be some of the most fun projects we work on. (Really!) Each word has to work REALLY, REALLY HARD to do its job. It's a challenge. And we're up for it.

Favorite non-wine project so far? Bouncy violators that sprung off a display of Sunbeam irons at Target that said things like "I'm Hot & Steamy" and "Take Me Home & Turn Me On." (OK - not sure that last one made the final cut, but it was a really fun brand group.)
